James Brewster - Lord Lieutenant's Cadet 2006/07

Glenfield's highest ranking cadet has been awarded a top county honour. 

Air Cadet James Brewster of Anstey has recently been selected to be one of this years Lord Lieutenants cadets for Leicestershire. James fought off stiff competion from fellow Air Cadets and recently joined Army and Sea Cadet representatives at County Hall for an investiture ceremony. James has been an Air Cadet since 2001 and is currently the Cadet Warrant Officer at 2070(Glenfield) Squadron.

James has achieved many awards and qualifications whilst in the Corps, Gold Duke of Edinburgh, Gliding Scholarship, Junior Leaders, Basic Expedition Leaders award to name a few. Since taking up post on the 1st November he has already been on Duty escorting the Lord Lieutenant on several occasions, meeting Prince Andrew on his recent visit to Leicester being the highlight so far. 

This is the 3rd year that a cadet from Glenfield Squadron has been selected for this top honour. Commanding Officer of Glenfield Squadron Flight Lieutenant Steve Mayoh-Smith who nominated James said ‘James is an excellent role model for younger cadets and his awards to date speak for themselves, his commitment to the Corps activities is of the highest standard’.
