9 Cadets from Glenfield joined the South & East Midlands Wing Team for the 90th International Road March in Holland.
The march consists of four days of consecutive road marching across the countryside and through the towns of Holland. It covers a distance of 100miles (160km) spread evenly over the four days.
The whole of the team completed the first day without any complications. Unfortunately the march had to be cancelled due to several fatalaties and it was considered dangerous by the Dutch Authorities to continue. It is the first time the marches have been cancelled since 1981 with temperatures reaching a stifling 43 degrees C! Members of the team began training back as early as January and have been guaranteed their team places for next year if they choose to accept the challenge!
