Glenfield enters its first shooting team at the National Shooting Championships at Bisley.

A team consisting of three Glenfield Cadets and an Oakham Cadet attended the National Shooting Championships at Bisley. The event consisted of four days of high class target rifle marksmanship using the L81-A1 Rifle. After a kit check at the squadron the team made its way to RAF Wittering to pick up the team minibus and rifles. The team then made its way to Bisley where they set up camp and attended various briefings,
Friday's shoot comprised of a 300m practice shoot, 300m competition shoot and a 600m competition shoot. Saturday was even more hectic with 2x300m competition shoots in the morning and 2x500m shoots in the afternoon. The competition ended with a final 600m shoot on the sunday morning. Each cadet in the team performed excellently averaging 29.5 per shoot, to be considered for a Cadet 100 (in the top 100 across all the services) the average had to be above 30.3, so next year watch out Glenfield are about!
Special thanks must go to AWO Hubbard, who made it all possible by regularly taking the team to Beckingham to practice and taking them to Bisley well done also to CWO King (Team Coach), CWO Brewster, FS Talbott, CPL Elton, Cdt Perkins for shooting & Cdt Johnson (Butt Marker)
